Archaeological excavation

Photogrammetric applications are becoming increasingly popular in archaeology. The possibility to create a 3D image of the excavation without entering the site offers several advantages. Possible damages caused by entering the site are avoided and the analysis based on generated orthophotos and measurable 3D models provides an excellent basis for the processing. In addition, the sites are documented in detail. Through web-based data sharing, the 3D models can be evaluated by several experts at different locations simultaneously and thus important insights can be gained.
